Hi, welcome to the UK LIFAN trike website.

Web site last updated - April 18 2008

Please look back from time to time when I might have put more content on this page and links to other pages.

I have a contact e mail address buried in a sort of code below so I hope the the web crawlers wont send me tons of viagra adverts, I am sure you can work it out, its "lifantrike (oneword) at yahoo . co . uk", I wont be looking at it every day so be prepared to wait a few days for a reply.

I am not wizo web site writer so please don't ask me for chat rooms, forums or any other technical thing, just E mail me with your request, comment etc, however I may put a password protected page on with your name, e mail or phone number contacts of the owners that emerge but only if enough of you think its a good idea and with your specific permission to publish the info, with E mail addresses on there it will attract junk mail, I promise you.

A bit of history about the trike and facts I  have learnt from the web and other owners.

If you are in the UK and have a Lifan Trike then you probably have have one of 24 bought into the country by somebody who thought he could make a few bob by selling them on, I understand he didn't know anything about the MSVA requirements initially, when he did find out about it he sold them on, you are probably the third owner.

The next thing is that I don't think they are called the "LIFAN Trike" its the name they seem to have inherited in the UK, they are built in China and I understand they were initially part of an order scheduled to go to the USA.

They are called the "JetGo - 2006HS" or "Apollo Chariot"  by most companies, to check this out look at the following links

http://magicemy.en.ecplaza.net/2.asp this company calls the trike a model type M1-250-02, I think they invented it

Who really makes them I cant determine because so many Chinese web sites seem to sell them.

There is a supplier in UK that supplies a similar trike, made in Spain, the front end and engine looks identical but its a two seater and has a differential and a live rear axle, the company is found at www.trikeshop.co.uk , although I have only seen it in a magazine article, not on their web site, they call it the Bunker 250, it was £6,250 in the article I saw

Another supplier I have found is in Spain, the link to their web site is http://www.bunker-trike.com/index_eng.html , they manufacture all sorts of different varieties, they have them acceptable as being registered in the EU, they must be linked to the Trikeshop some how I guess, interesting I thought, so there are quite a few around.

One point I have noticed is that the front disc brake is on the left hand side for countries that drive on the left, I do find that fitting it on the right, the speedo drive does not fit well in any position, when you have to consider where the cable should go without fouling the suspension when it goes up and down. , maybe you have a better position than my picture in the Mudguards item below

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This web site will contain info on how to get your trike through the MSVA (I hope), as and when I overcome the problem.

I have purchased a copy of the MSVA Manual and my findings are based on what that says.
